University Promo

From Pirate Party of Canada
Jump to: navigation, search

The university promotional campaign seeks to establish groups and gatherings of Pirates across Canada at every university and post-secondary institution

Project Goal

To promote the Party on post-secondary campuses throughout Canada by holding events, creating campus clubs, and recruiting members. By doing so we hope to have the party reach a wider section of Canadian society and involve the youth demographic in the political process. This guide is by neccessity a work in progress and will expand as members share experiences on what works and what doesn't.

Frosh Week

Most universities have a day during Frosh Week or early in the first semester where clubs and societies can set up information booths. This is an excellent time to talk to people about the party and its goals either as an official club or an individual looking for those of like-mind.

Promotional Materials

Some useful resources can be found on the PPCA's YouTube Account

The Pirate Party has some resources to help with creating printed promotional materials. However, the campus organizer will still need to put together some printed resources themselves. The Branding Guide is a good place to start for graphics and some basic pamphlet designs.

Many universities run a campus newspaper, radio station or both. Since both are generally eager for content you should find the people involved very supportive. Since many people have not heard about the party it is relatively easy to get an introduction article ran in a campus newspaper. After that it is simply a matter of submitting articles on current events from a Pirate's point of view.
