The purpose of the directors is to keep the organization true to its purpose. Therefore, it can be advantageous not to put executive responsibilities onto the Directors (i.e. Marketing, Finances, etc.), but make those positions officers of the organization which will "report" to the board of directors. In this way more accountability can be achieved, the officers can deal with the day-to-day issues while the directors are more in the role of making sure that things are done right and in the best interest of the members. This also reduces potential conflicts of interest, since the Officers can establish budgets, plans etc., the directors tests them if done in the interest of the members and approve within the bylaws, the members vote for the annual plans, budgets, etc, vote for the directors, and approve change bylaws recommended by the directors. --Txwikinger 20:25, 12 September 2009 (UTC)
