GM 2012-01-18 minutes

The regular General Meeting of the Pirate Party of Canada was called to order at 19:00 EST, January 18, 2012 at irc.pirateparty.ca, irc channel #canada. The president was in the chair and the secretary was present.

Minutes from previous meeting was approved.

Secretary gave a report about Shawn Gray's, Deputy Leader, resignation. There were no objections and resignation was accepted. Secretary to inform Shawn Gray and Political Council to elect new member.

Sean Hunt and Andrii Zvorygin were nominated for the position of President of the Executive Board. Discussion follows. Ric Lim and Jack McLeod were nominated for the position of Vice President of the Executive Board. Discussion follows. Ric Lim was nominated for the position of Secretary of the Executive Board and was elected by acclamation.

Voting was held for the position of President and Vice President. Sean Hunt was elected President with a majority of 22 votes to 1 vote for Andrii Zvorygin and 1 vote for nobody. Jack McLeod was elected Vice President with 17 votes to 6 votes for Ric Lim and 1 vote for nobody.

Election of IT director was discussed. It was decided to vote for a temporary IT director. The temporary IT director's term was set to expire after the next General Meeting. Jeremy Howell, Martin Alix, and Scott Elcomb were nominated for the Position of IT director. Scott Elcomb was elected with a majority of the votes after second round of voting.
