FAQ
From Pirate Party of Canada
Is the PPCA a registered federal (and/or provincial) political party?
At the moment, no. We have sent out application to become Eligible for Registration. There has been some talk of creating a provincial party, however most of us agree that a provincial party is not a goal since our main issues are more federally-oriented.
How does one go about signing up for party membership?
Right here. Membership is currently 10$. A membership card will be sent to you.
Any plans for the PPCA to run candidates for the next election?
It depends on when the next election is. We need to become Eligible to be Registered 60 days before an election in order to run candidates in that election. We will try to run in the first election that we are ready for.
What are the candidate nomination and leadership procedures?
The procedure is detailed in the Constitution and the Constitution#Bylaws
Any plans for the PPCA to formally participate in public hearings on copyright and related issues?
The hearings have been completed. In light of the ACTA negotiations, we believe the hearings to have just been a delay tactic.
How does one participate in the PPCA committees, in order to work on policy and press releases?
Currently there are no committees. Join in the discussion in the Administration forum.
