From Pirate Party of Canada
<~scshunt> Ok, first up, approval of the minutes. Ric, do you have last week's stashed away somewhere? <JMcleod> Ahhh and he rises from the ashes <~scshunt> and the week before's, now that I think of it <RLim> one sec, I am away from home so let me dig through my gmail sent mail <~scshunt> if you don't have them, it's okay, we can do them next week <~scshunt> but it's best not to build a backlog <RLim> k <~scshunt> (Best to email them out in advance, too) <~scshunt> Ok, so we can dispense with approving the minutes then <~scshunt> hey Shawn <~scshunt> we just got started >_> <~scshunt> JMcleod: Since you have to go first, anything you'd like to bring up? <ayes> Hey there, I'll keep my mouth shut.cause I'm not technically exec anymore <~scshunt> I don't mind <RLim> sorry to interrupt <RLim> I have the minutes from our first meeting <~scshunt> RLim: what's up? <JMcleod> I don't have to go <RLim> let me try pasting it here <JMcleod> I just didnt wanna wait all night :P <~scshunt> JMcleod: oh ok <~scshunt> ok <RLim> The first regular Executive Board meeting of the Pirate Party of Canada was called to order at 21:33 EST, January 9, 2012 at irc.pirateparty.ca/#exec. The president was in the chair and the secretary was present. In attendance were scshunt, svulliez, RLim and Nuitari. scshunt move "that the party pay $400 to Stephane Bakhos' wife to pay for her services in keeping records of the Funds for 2012". After discussion by the board, the motion was adopted without dissent - 3 aye, 0 nay. scshunt move for adoption of the following resolution: "Resolved that the Party shall not offer any loans to candidates for their candidacy deposits". After discussion by the board, the motion was adopted without dissent - 3 aye 0 nay. Meeting was adjourned at 23:03 EST <JMcleod> test <~scshunt> JMcleod: loud and clear <JMcleod> yeah was wondering ;) not used to being in here :P <RLim> was there another meeting after that? The other minutes might be in my desktop PC. <RLim> at least we can approve the first one. <RLim> unless there is any corrections <~scshunt> Didn't we decide things there? <~scshunt> You know what, let's must dispense with the reading now and then we can chat about this later <~scshunt> *just <RLim> k <~scshunt> Ok <~scshunt> So, any business? <JMcleod> yeah <JMcleod> so who controls https://www.pirateparty.ca/merchandise <~scshunt> Nuitari at present, I think? <~scshunt> Ultimately that should get moved under the new IT, like the rest <JMcleod> how does one add/get new stuff? <Nuitari> yeah I'm here <Nuitari> that would be moved under IT / web <Nuitari> first links goes to the crm <JMcleod> Because the idea I have would be to add a way for members to buy "business cards" where they can write their name. <JMcleod> Therefor, when they speak to someone about it, they can give a card because not everyone has a pc on the street :) <~scshunt> psema4: are you around? <~scshunt> JMcleod: I like the idea <Nuitari> yeah <Nuitari> we could also another level of 3000 cards for 140$ I think <Nuitari> but with their name and contact info real professionally done <~scshunt> 3000 is a bit excessive <~scshunt> but yeah, that's a good idea <JMcleod> So we need to find 1) A provider that will let us put our logo, website etc. 2) A name (and maybe a title) 3) Not too pricey <JMcleod> Id go with 100 cards at first <JMcleod> personally <JMcleod> So if you guys like the idea ill snoop around the web to find something (hopefully) <Nuitari> JMcleod: call http://www.signsearch.com/client/search_client.cfm/11563 <Nuitari> they have good pricing for bulks, double sided color <~scshunt> my suggestion for IT stuff is let's give the IT Committee some time to reorient and transfer knowledge <Nuitari> scshunt: I know, but a lot of cheap places are like 100 cards for 50$ <~scshunt> but yeah, we should jump on this as soon as possible <~scshunt> oh, ewww <Nuitari> I think the print place can do 3000 for 99$ <~scshunt> is that with or without shipping? <~scshunt> also 'print place'? <Nuitari> scshunt: without but I can pick them up <Nuitari> see the url I pasted above <~scshunt> ah ok <JMcleod> I'll also ask my brother, he gets some for his business <~scshunt> cool <~scshunt> We could also look at providing a template generator for people to get printed at a local shot <~scshunt> *shop <RLim> yeah that could work also scshunt <JMcleod> Yeah that too <JMcleod> Alright. Plan is: Look around and see what businesses can give us a fair price. Preferably Canadian. <~scshunt> Nuitari: Are the templates you used for the last run around anywhere? <JMcleod> Then. Make sure company can meet demands (which they most likely will) <Nuitari> Zblewski did the last run <~scshunt> ok <Nuitari> I might have them somewhere though, but it would be faster through him <~scshunt> will ask <~scshunt> Unrelated: I have a note here that "Vanhede Mathieu from the PPFR and PPBE would like to set up a coordination among francophone parties. " I was saving it for post-election; should I hang on for PC elections or should we look at this? <Nuitari> do it now <~scshunt> D'accord <JMcleod> Depends on the kind of coordination, but I think its something the president should look into more than the leader <~scshunt> Also, JMcleod, does this meeting time work regularly for you? <JMcleod> Yeah <JMcleod> At worse, I sent my phone # <JMcleod> so just call and see if im home (ya never know) <~scshunt> I won't be able to make next week's, but it's a one-off thing <RLim> k <~scshunt> Anything else? <~scshunt> Oh right, <~scshunt> Nuitari: How are we doing on getting a financial report <Nuitari> well, now that I have the free time it will be soon <Nuitari> what details are you looking for in the report? <ayes> Ah I have the e-mail address of the IT board candidate Malix who said he would do translation for us also, if anyone would like it <RLim> just cash flow? in and out? Simple for people to figure out since we will be making this available for members to see right? <RLim> ayes, is malik in the translators@pirateparty.ca list? I've tried e-mailing there before but did not get a reply <Nuitari> I don't think he is in the list <Nuitari> ah cash flow my wife will get to it soon <~scshunt> Getting a list of all expenditures and incomes would be good <Nuitari> scshunt: you already have the incomes btw <~scshunt> Nuitari: you might have mentioned them a few weeks ago <~scshunt> it would be nice to have a full report for presentation to the membership <Nuitari> yes <Nuitari> there is also the EC and CRA report <Nuitari> and the audit <~scshunt> yeah <~scshunt> when do you think we'll have that? <Nuitari> probably a month or so <~scshunt> ok <RLim> k <RLim> so what is the next step on coordination with ppfr <RLim> what's ppbe? <~scshunt> belgium <JMcleod> And what would we coordinate with them? <JMcleod> Press releases maybe? <~scshunt> Don't really know <~scshunt> I guess I'll do that then <~scshunt> find out what there after <RLim> exchange information and see what we can learn from each other? <~scshunt> *they're <~scshunt> yeah <~scshunt> perhaps work on French literature or something <RLim> yeah <Nuitari> I'm moving the crm to the new server /ip now btw <RLim> k <RLim> anything else? <~scshunt> Nuitari: Can we get RLim access to the CRM? <~scshunt> I can't think of anything right now. The fun will begin when the IT Committee is organized and the PC is off the ground. <RLim> yeah we're working on it. I don't have my gpg key. will forward it to him next week once I am back at home <~scshunt> cool <Nuitari> ah <Nuitari> SOPA protest today <JMcleod> Whats the CRM? <Nuitari> database of members, donators and customers <~scshunt> Nuitari: If you have any operational knowledge you'd like to pass on such as business cards or the like, please do <~scshunt> err, membership cards <~scshunt> Oh, reminds me <Nuitari> yeah eventually we'll have to find someone to take that over too <~scshunt> do we need to send out membership cards? <~scshunt> Nuitari: Or even better, just write things in the wiki when you have time <Nuitari> yeah but first I need to buy supplies and print them <~scshunt> No, I meant do we /need/ to <~scshunt> It would be nice to not send them to people who don't want them <Nuitari> right now we do advertise that we send it to yes <Nuitari> but we can change that for future members <~scshunt> We could make it opt-in <Nuitari> yeah <JMcleod> cuz honestly, its just plastic <JMcleod> the number matters more <Nuitari> some people really care about it <Nuitari> and some members do use it to publicize the party <JMcleod> true. <Nuitari> and it's been used as conversation starters <~scshunt> yeah <RLim> or just add a mandatory field to select whether they want it or not <~scshunt> it's not that it's bad <~scshunt> just not necessary for everyone <~scshunt> and a waste of precious money for those who don't want it <Nuitari> probably make it optout <RLim> with mandatory field it is neither opt in or opt out. They can choose what they want <~scshunt> Nuitari: Are you able to do that one yourself? <RLim> *nor <~scshunt> I like Ric's suggestion <Nuitari> psema4: :) <~scshunt> psema4 isn't around <Nuitari> I'll see if I can do it <~scshunt> thanks <~scshunt> Meeting adjourned!
